About Minecraft Sphere Generator

This Minecraft sphere generator calculates every block of a round sphere for any radius from 1 to 48. Preview it in 3D, then use Layer View to see each horizontal ring so you can build the sphere by hand in survival.

For big spheres, download a .litematic and follow the Litematica overlay, or a .schem to paste instantly with WorldEdit in creative.

How to build a sphere in Minecraft

Every layer of a sphere is a circle of a different size, which is why spheres are hard to freehand. Start at the bottom layer, use the layer slider to step up one ring at a time, and place each circle centred on the same block. The middle layer is the widest; the layers above it mirror the ones below.

Hollow vs solid spheres

Hollow spheres keep only the outer shell, with a wall thickness from 1 to 8 blocks, and use far fewer blocks: ideal for glass observatories, planets you can walk inside and round rooms. Solid spheres fill completely for cores, decorations and terrain.

Picking a size

The sphere is 2 x radius + 1 blocks across in every direction. The Summary panel shows the total block count, which helps you plan how many stacks to collect before you start building.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a perfect sphere in Minecraft?
Pick a radius, then build it layer by layer from Layer View, which shows the exact ring of blocks for each height. Or download a .litematic and let Litematica show where each block goes.
How many blocks are in a sphere?
It depends on the radius and whether it is hollow. The Summary panel shows the exact block count as you change the settings, so you know how many blocks to gather.
Can I make a hollow sphere?
Yes. Spheres are hollow by default with an adjustable wall thickness. Turn on Filled for a completely solid sphere.
Which schematic formats can I download?
Choose .litematic for Litematica, .schem for WorldEdit or FAWE, .nbt for a vanilla structure block, or JSON for your own scripts. The schematic is built from the block you pick in the Material menu.
What is the largest sphere I can generate?
A radius of 48, which is a sphere 97 blocks across. That fits inside the build height of any modern world if you start it low enough.
