About Minecraft Dome Generator

This Minecraft dome generator builds the top half of a sphere at any radius from 1 to 48, which makes it the easiest way to plan a round roof, a glass greenhouse, an underwater base or an observatory.

Preview the dome in 3D, step through its layers to build it in survival, or download it as a .litematic for Litematica or a .schem for WorldEdit.

How to build a dome in Minecraft

Lay out the bottom layer first: it is a full circle with the dome's radius and sets the footprint. Then use the layer slider to move up one ring at a time. Each ring gets smaller until you reach the single cap block at the top.

Glass domes and roofs

Choose glass or a stained glass colour in the Material menu for a greenhouse or underwater base, or a stone or wood block for a roof. Keep it hollow with a wall thickness of 1 for the lightest build, or thicken the wall for a sturdier look.

Fitting a dome to a building

The dome is 2 x radius + 1 blocks wide and radius + 1 blocks tall. Match the width to the outer walls of your build so the bottom ring sits on top of them.

Frequently asked questions

How do I build a dome in Minecraft?
Set the radius to match your building, then build it from Layer View one ring at a time from the bottom up. Or download it as a .litematic and follow the Litematica overlay.
Is a dome the same as a half sphere?
Yes. The dome is the top half of a sphere with the same radius, so it is as wide as the full sphere but only half as tall.
Can I make a glass dome?
Yes. Pick glass or any stained glass in the Material menu and the 3D preview and downloaded schematic use that block.
Which schematic formats can I download?
Choose .litematic for Litematica, .schem for WorldEdit or FAWE, .nbt for a vanilla structure block, or JSON for your own scripts. The schematic is built from the block you pick in the Material menu.
Is the dome generator free?
Yes. It is free, runs in your browser and needs no sign-up.
