How many blocks for a full beacon?
A tier 4 beacon, the maximum, needs 164 blocks: a 9x9, a 7x7, a 5x5 and a 3x3 stacked up, plus the beacon itself. Lower tiers need 9, 34 or 83 blocks. The calculator breaks down every layer.
Beacon range and effects
Range grows with the tier, from 20 blocks at tier 1 to 50 blocks at tier 4. Tier 1 gives Speed and Haste, tier 2 adds Resistance and Jump Boost, tier 3 adds Strength, and tier 4 unlocks Regeneration as a secondary effect plus level II on your primary.
